Simply Not Good Enough ! Derby [A] reviewed
Saturday Jan 30, 2021
Saturday Jan 30, 2021
Ian, Mark & Headhunter analyse the game at Pride Park where City's performance was right down in the gutter as far as poor showings go.
Apathy on the pitch and from the sidelines saw them carry on where they left off from the last 70 minutes of the previous game but no points this time.
Zero corners from the last two games and next up are free scoring Brentford.

Vital win and that's all that matters

Huddersfield can claim with some justification that they were robbed at Ashton Gate last night as two goals from Fam in a stunning opening half hour proved just enough.
City's deep lying shape brought wave upon wave of attack from the Yorkshire men and only the woodwork, weak finishing and a Bentley super save were the difference between a narrow win and certain defeat.
DaveFevs, Ian, Mark and Headhunter review the action and pick over the content of the recent Ashton / 20Man interview

The panel were in an uncharacteristically jovial mood as they discussed a convincing win at the New Den against a poor Millwall.
This was another decent performance in which City's young starlets shined with Semenyo and Vyner in particular suggesting they have the potential to earn City an 8-figure transfer fee in the future.
We look at the content of the @GeeMacGee interview with Mark Ashton, proclaim 4 points is the requirement from the next 2 games against Huddersfield and resurgent WRDC, and we look at the Sunderland fans forum to see how they are taking to life under LJ

In Conversation with ...... Bobby Gould
Friday Jan 22, 2021
Friday Jan 22, 2021
In this episode Bobby talks about his playing and managerial career, some general football topics and starts with his discussing City's performance in Wednesday's game at Norwich City
In an illustrious career as a player and manager Bobby Gould's association with Bristol City is but a small part.
Signed from West Brom in December 1972 for £69k [a lot of money in those days] after John Galley's transfer to Nottingham Forest it was a short tempestuous period which ended in November the following year when he was sold to West Ham for £80k.
Bobby scored 15 goals in 35 appearances. He memorably fell out on the pitch with Gerry Gow [think Dyer/Bowyer 2005 and our own Orr/Carey 2006], scored and played in goal in a match against WBA following Ray Cashley's arm break, and fell out with Alan Dicks on a matter of principle which probably led to his early departure.
He managed over 600 games at club level [including 2 spells with the Gas] with the high point being steering Wimbledon to their famous 1988 FA Cup win over Liverpool. Bobby was also manager of the Welsh national side which was his last major job in football
Bobby lives in Portishead where his home has been for all bar a few years since he move to City 48 years ago

We came away with nothing from Carrow Road which wasn't entirely unexpected against the league leaders but once again it was the manner of the performance that let us down.
Ian, Mark & Headhunter discuss the action from a match where, again, it was only Dan Bentley that stood between this and a much heavier defeat.
Ian also gave his view on the Club's latest financial report. With the financial future looking uncertain we fear there may be trouble ahead!

The 2-0 win over Preston was not only a monkey off our back against our bogey team of 10 years but it also saw the lads put in a performance of a standard that has been lacking for many months.
Ian, Mark, DaveFevs & headhunter review the match action and discuss the fact that the 2nd half of the season needs to yield no more than a handful of points more the the first to secure a play off spot.
We look forward to Norwich away and discuss contracts [lack of], injuries & transfers.

But we won didn't we?!!!

In this latest episode we discuss the win against Pompey which was down to two classy strikes from Fam & Chris Martin.
Dan Bentley showed why he is one of the best goalkeepers in the country and Alfie Mawson looked assured in the 65 minutes he was on but those bright points apart it was another disjointed affair.
We talk the usual stuff on contracts [is there some masterplan afoot?], injuries etc whilst Ian and I reminisce on former midfielder Bobby Kellard who passed away today after a long illness

DaveFevs, Ian, Mark & Headhunter review another 90 minutes of disappointment from last night's game at Kenilworth Road and try to get to the bottom of what our current malaise is attributable to .... and it is not just the injuries!
What should we expect for the remainder of the season which reaches its halfway point on Saturday?

I wish we were and thanks to listener Mike who said we sounded like 4 blokes in a depressed state moaning down the pub over a pint - you're not wrong
Ian, Mark , DaveFevs & Headhunter review Friday night's match action from Deepdale.
Yes it was an improved 2nd half performance compared to the low bar set in recent weeks but there's something not right and we pin it on the coaching even allowing for the continuing injury crisis.
We look forward to the next two games and reminisce on the 3rd anniversary of that famous victory over Man Utd - that seems a long time ago now!
We're taking a short break over Christmas and will be doing a Live Pod at Midday on 30th December.
Thanks for listening and every good wish for Christmas & beyond

Time for Mark Ashton to .....
Wednesday Dec 16, 2020
Wednesday Dec 16, 2020
make a statement that this is a season like no other due to injuries & Covid and Dean has our full support as we go through this difficult time.
Our objective is to be within 6 points of the play offs by February 1st by which time we should be able to field our full strength team and be able to finish the season strongly.
He won't say that so in the meantime sit back and listen to Headhunter, DaveFevs & Mark discuss the nightmare before Christmas which is an appropriate title for another *hit show of a performance!!!
